About Us

The University of Pittsburgh Biomedical Informatics (BMI) Training Program (http://www.dbmi.pitt.edu/training-programs) offers training for students who want to conduct innovative research at the cross section of biomedicine and computing. The BMI Training Program welcomes talented individuals who may be health professionals seeking formal training in informational and computational methods, or students from scientific and technical backgrounds who seek to prepare themselves for careers emphasizing biomedical applications of information technology.

The program currently has 40 predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees, and offers a range of training experiences to accommodate diverse backgrounds and aspirations. Active participation in research and development is a key element of the training experience at the University. Over 25 core faculty and 50 affiliated faculty teach and mentor students, representing 25 departments and centers across the University of Pittsburgh.
